Soundproofing??

I got my first ride in a RV-6A a few weeks ago and my only complaint was...BAA this is loud! Has anyone looked into soundproofing the cockpit with foam? It sounds like it would be an easy problem to fix. I took an acoustics class a few years ago, so the science of soundproofing is still fresh in my mind. If anyone can get some readings of the cockpit with an SLM (sould level meter) id love to run some calcs to solve this problem. I'll be able to use the readings to figure out what foam thickness and ppi best dampens the noise. Any thoughts?

Do a search, there has been a lot of discussion about soundproofing on this forum.
