Soft Start

I have the yellow sticker on the ignition module so I assume I have a factory installed soft start unit.

Question is--Should I be starting the engine with just the ignition "A" on???
Can't find anything in POH or FTS which mentions "soft start", just start with both ignitions switched on.

Both ignitions should be on. The yellow labeled modules have the soft start feature built in and sense starter activation and low rpm as a signal to provide retarded spark timing. At the time I built my plane Van's provided some extra wiring for this new feature - for it to work you must have wired for it. Page 46-13.
