Slick or easy way??????

Anybody have an Easy way to verify the oil temperature or check the Vans gauge and sender for accuracy? Thanks, Allan

My Van's oil temp gauge ran approx 20 deg low even though it "tested" ok in boiling water. When I upgraded to an EI gauge my usual 160 oil temp came up to 180. I believe it was due to the actual temp probe being totally shrouded by the probe adapter, the EI temp probe has no such adapter.
