I hate to ask after reading the "SL30 Going Blank" thread but here goes.
After just 9.7 hours my SL30 appears to be dead. (blank) I removed it from the plane and bench tested it with just power applied to the "comm" and "nav" power pins. Same thing, nothing. I did notice that when I turn on the switch it pulls about 750ma but that's all I get.
I need to check my paperwork but I did send it back to Garmin for the Service Bulletin thing within the last year. I wonder if they warranty it from that upgrade. I bought the unit new from a fellow VAF'r awhile ago that installed it but never got his plane flying. I'm sure it's out of the original warranty.
Any ideas? I need to buy 100LL not spend more money on avionics that only last 10 hours.
