Sika on Tip-Up - 1/8" Gap?

I'm still bouncing between the traditional install method and bonding the canopy on my tip-up with Sika. I've searched and searched and can't find the answer to this: for those of you who have used Sika on a tip-up, I see how you can create the 1/8" space for the Sika on the aft portion of the canopy that attaches to the 631 channel, but what do you do for the 625 side rail fit? From what I gather, the space between the 625 and outside skirt is a no gap fit. I've looked on a number of build sites and can't tell if people actually address this or just leave it as a tight fit. A lot of discussion I've seen is from 20 years ago, so unsure what has played out since then in terms of real world outcomes to different approaches.
