Sealing the wing tip lights

Instructions say to use ProSeal, AKA Devils Snot. Is there any reason Clear RTV would not be just as good? I am out of Pro Seal and have clear RTV on hand.

Dan, I don't know if this fact, but many years ago I was told that some RTV will cause corrosion on aluminum??????

Corrosion would be an issue as atmospheric moisture initiates a catalyzed reaction that produces acetic acid (the vinegar odor).
Also paint will not adhere permanantly in the presence of silicones.
