Scrap aa6-125?

I'm getting ready to put the conical bend in the lower portion of my f-970 side skins. The instructions say to use a scrap piece of aa6-125 clecoed to the skin to effect the bend, but I don't have any scrap pieces long enough.

If I cut a foot off of one of the 10ft aa6-125x3/4x3/4 pieces will I be regretting it later?

Since you're drilling holes in it, it will be pretty useless for use later, but Van's includes more angle than you need. Really, though, this is what cheap hardware store angle is for.

You can really use anything.
On my 8 I believe I used a couple of pieces of regular angle clamped together which had to be trimmed to make the full bend required to form on the forward side.
Just make sure it's flat in the bottom to enable it to hit the floor rib nicely.
