SB wing rib question

Well Known Member
Just want to confirm before I go ahead:

I originally assumed that ribs marked L go in the left wing, and those marked R go in the right wing. Looking closer at the plans, I am thinking that the L and R are just the direction of the flanges, which is alluded to in the instructions. So am I correct in placing a W-712-R in the full inboard position on both wings, per the drawing?

Thanks

Yes you are exactly right, that was confusing when i was doing it as well. As soon as you get them all layer out re number them with your own system to make it much easier.

Yes, the rib will go in both wings where they are called for. This allows for "easier" access when bucking the skins and for other factors. Just follow the plans and double check them for the proper flange direction. It will become clearer farther on down the road. The prepunched skins will also help guide you.
