RV6 gear fairings?

I have an RV6 with the old style two piece aluminum gear fairings. Is there a way to stop them from pressurizing and sooting/ oiling up the fairings? Was foam originally called for? I’m not the builder.

I'm assuming you are saying that oil from the cowling area is flowing down & out the gearleg fairings? If so, two options, a) stuff something into the upper part of the fairing (maybe some sort of foam), b) [pardon me!] find/fix the oil leak?
