The first competition for 2018 is in the books and Jerry Esquenazi is firmly in the lead in Sportsman category with a 81.66% score. Jerry was in 5th place following the first flight at the Snowbird Classic in Dunnellon, Florida and rebounded with a solid first place flight in the second round which boosted him to third overall. Weather caused the contest to be cancelled before a third flight was flown. Randy King finished with a respectable score of 74.81% to finish 5th in a field of ten competitors and did it with a borrowed RV-7A. Randy sold his RV-4 and the word is that he is looking for a nice RV-8. I finished poorly after zeroing one figure in each of my two flights. That's enough to take one out of the competition even if the rest of the figures score well. It's a mind game as well as a skill game. Come join the fun. Here's the list of upcoming contests. Next weekend it's the Hammerhead Roundup in Borrego Springs, California.
