RV-9A Quick build

Oysterbay

I'm New Here
After spending the weekend unpacking and inventorying my Quick build, i think i am ready to get back to building. After walking through the manuel to find out where vans stopped and i should start, it looks like i can start by installing the fuel sender units in the tanks. If i put the senders in the tanks with the wings on the stands, will they be damaged due to the wings being stored vertically?

Wait on the senders

You can seal in the large circular plate with the fuel pick up tube, but I wouldn't actually install the float senders until just before mounting the wings for the final time. Just cover the hole with tape or a temp cover to keep debris out of the tank.

There will be lots of flipping the wings back and forth (at least if you're painting before flying). No sense in banging the floats back and forth, or allowing the float arms to be suspended sideways long term.
