RV-8 Canopy

To anyone's knowledge... Has the RV-8 ever been flight tested to fly without the sliding portion of the canopy...ie, windscreen only, open air cockpit??

Don't know, but there was an article in last month's Sport Aviation about a guy who modified his RV-7 to fly open cockpit as you describe.
