RV-7A slider headroom

I've been doing lots of research on building a 7A and have flown in two. One was a tip up, the other a slider. To me it felt like I had about an inch more headroom in the slider. In both cases the seat back was in the same position.

I saw a post on another homebuilt forum that said the slider does in fact give you 1 inch more headroom. Can anyone confirm this?

I tilt my head inward when opening/closing slider canopy to keep from knocking my headsets off. I don't use the booster cushion that came with my Classic Aero seats either. I'm around 5-11 tall with 32" inseam.
