RV-12 Skyview Auto Trim

Has anybody installed the Skyview Autopilot Panel (SV-AP-Panel) to get the auto trim feautures? I was so excited when I saw that Dynon had included autotrim software in one of their recent releases. Then, I realized that you have to install their Autopilot Panel to get it. Anyway, I tired of the "trim up/trim down" messages when I'm in autopilot and I'm considering adding their module. If you've done it, how about a builder's report on it?

Appreciate it,

Dennis

I have them, but you still get the message, and the auto trim kicks in and the message goes away.

Works good. Plus you have the runaway protection I believe.

Dave,

Your write-up is outstanding! Looks like I have another task to complete during my annual. Now, if I can convince Tom to sell me that metal template, I' m set!!!

Cheers,

Dennis

Dave -

I noticed you had some slip indications - Have you used the inflight servo setup memos to increase the torque settings, etc as advised by the Dynon manual to adjust these parameters?

I had a little slip and used this manual - worked out pretty good fwiw...

Well, I'll take a look, but I think the primary problem (and this is embarrassing to admit) was that I had my feet on the floor. That said, I also still have a slightly heavy left wing and passed the point of diminishing returns from pinching the trailing edge of the right flaperon.

Have you tried the hammering on a block of wood on the trailing edge of the left aileron to fatten it? (I think that is what you do per the PAP...?)

It took a few flights of tuning those wing dipping, hammering and squeezing to get mine flying hands off....and a few more of tuning the autopilot to get things right....mine will pretty much do everything but step on the rudder in a climb in expert mode.

Great video btw. As always I'm a big fan!
