I just received the instructions and doubler plate in the mail from Vans. No action was required on my part - I didn't call to ask them to send it out - it just showed up. Looks like they are being pro-active on this one. Too bad it requires drilling out all those skin rivets to apply the fix.

Guys, don't sweat it. I'm a relatively new builder and I replaced mine the other day. Aside from having to drill out a few rivets it's a no-brainer. Can easily be done in 1.5 hours.
