RV-10 Brake Pads

Can anybody give me the part number for the dics brake replacement pads- a Spruce number would be helpful. Thanks.

Glenn,
I took the following off of Tim Olson's website. Looks like ACS might not be a viable source. These are Cleveland parts.

I checked Aircraft Spruce, and they don't list the same wheel parts breakdowns as we have....we have the 40-59A wheel assembly, and the 30-59E Brake Assembly. Doing a little online searching, I found the parts at one of my favorite suppliers...skygeek.com (seems to describe me, I guess).

Below is a list of all of the replacement parts other than bolts, nuts, and bearings, for ONE side. The quantity of linings and rivets is the total for doing TWO wheels. The confusing part for me was the 153-00300 and 153-00400 Ring-Grease Seals. I had to look at my original RV-10 plans to find out the difference as they BOTH are listed as "Figure No. 9". Doing a little checking finds that the 153-00400 is used on the inner, with the large flat felt. The 153-00300 is used on the outer. I thought I'd pass these parts lists and links on because it is hard to find a good blowup diagram on the net. If the links below are ever broken, send me an email and I saved them as .pdf's.

RV-10 pads

I just ordered replacement brake pads for my RV-10 from Van's. Tim Olson had posted that Rapco is now making the pads, but a search of the website and a call revealed that they are no longer making them. I looked at Spruce and Wicks and Skygeek and none of them were any cheaper than from Van's: $88 for four pads and rivets. Ouch. If anyone knows a better/cheaper place to get them, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would be interested.

Part number 66-11200, Cleveland pads
$19 each from Chief Aircraft in OR.
They come without rivets so order 2 for each pad. Rapco rivets are cheaper than Cleveland rivets.
So Chief is just a bit cheaper than Van's, depending on what is charged for S&H.

For a while Desser Tire was selling the Rapco pads but as was pointed out they are no longer listed on their web site. Even when they were, the Rapco pads were only slightly less expensive. These things must be made of gold.

I've got an unneeded set

I've got a set of those pads that I'll let go for $75, including rivets and shipping. I had them for the first -10 and the new one has Grove calipers which are slightly different.

PM or email if interested.
Bob
