Hi Folks,
Doing the condition inspection on my IO390 and noticed some light surface rust forming on the OUTSIDE of the cylinder barrels. These are painted black on my plane and I assume when it was built up 13 years ago whoever painted the cylinders didn't get good coverage or prep.
Just wondering if anyone has had success in treating this before. I'm assuming if I treat it with acf50 or something the heat will just cook it off. Not a huge deal, but if I can do something about it, why not.
