I am retro-fitting my earlier -6 with the current hanging rudder pedals. After getting the old system gutted, I discovered the NACA vents are installed differently than what is currently called out for. This puts them in a bad position to place the F-6116 blocks in the location called out by Van's. I noted that the instructions state that the nominal placement of the blocks is 4" aft of the vertical angle of the firewall. However, it states that this distance can be less or greater as desired. In my case, less would be desired.
My question is....How far forward can I go before I would have pedal interference from the firewall? I guess, it would be helpful to know what is the greatest distance that someone has moved the F-6116 blocks forward?
