Rudder Fiberglass Tip

I want to make the rudder tip removable. I may or maynot put a light on top of it. The plans say rivet it. I want to use nutplates & screws. What size screws & washers (if necessary) do I use?
Also, what is the best resin to use on the fiberglass? I have forgotten what I used on my LongEze 25 years ago.

West Systems

I believe most people that go this route use #6 or #8 screws. If you look at the hardware used on the wingtips (screws, nutplates, and washers) you should be good.

West Systems epoxy is the brand most people seem to use. They have everything you need.

Aircraft Spruce sells it. So do most marine supply stores.

#4's - use torx screws instead

If you use #4's change the screws over to torx type. They don't seem to strip the head as easily. I used #4's on my wing tips, elevator tips and rudder fairing.

Get the nutplates from Cleveland and torx screws from Micro Fasteners.
