Rotax idle speed?

Can anyone tell me what the Rotax idel speed should be set at in a RV-12?
I think mine is set to high. Also those of you who are flying the RV-12,
at what RPM do you pull back to on down wind to slow the plane down?

Engine Idle

There is alot of info on Idle on this thread:

http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=55264&highlight=idle+RPM

More info here pay close attention to Larry Gs post:

Set Idle to 1400RPM. After start adjust throttle to run between 1800 and 2000. Don't idle up above 2500 RPM until Oil temp reaches 120F. When shutting down Idle down to 1400RPM then turn off one Mag then the next to reduce wear and tear on the slipper clutch.

Idle RPM for Landing!

What RPM do you pull back to on down wind to slow the plane down? The falls under the title of Pilot Technique which is some what subjective but I try.
1 Midfield Downwind Throttle all the way back to Idle stop.
2 Abeam end of runway in the the white arc or below 82kts half flaps
3 Pitch for 60kts all the way around to final with throttle at Idle.
4 Turning final flaps full down cross the end of the runway at 55kts.
5 Make a nose high soft field Landing, hold nose off after touch down as long as possible to reduce wear and tear on Nose wheel strut.

Disclaimer: These are only suggestions and can be adjusted as necessary to the meteorological conditions that maybe in play during your landing.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I had the idle set to high and was having a rough time
landing. I was just floating down the runway. I Lowered
the idle speed and everything works much better.

Best to make flap changes before or after a turn. Have your full concentration on the turn to final.
