Roll bar bolt thru aft canopy deck question

How in blue blazes do you get the nut on the bolt of the aft 1/4 bolt thru the roll bar into the aft canopy deck? I keep thinking I need to scallop the bottom flange here but never a mention in the manual or plans that I have seen. Any suggestions?

I made a nut holder out of sheet aluminum. With a little work you should be able to make a tool that holds the nut while you turn the bolt. No need to cut the flange back.

I super glued the washer and nut to the spacer. Worked great!
