Riveted trailing edges prepaint treatment

How did you guys finish off the riveted trailing edges prior to paint?
My trailing edges have a very tiny bit of the AEX wedge protruding out from the ends of the skins and I am considering filing it off so the edges (2 skins and AEX) are all flush then slightly round the edge with a hard rubber sanding block.
It seems the trailing edges in the current condition would be a spot that would be very prone to paint chipping if left too sharp.

File TE's

I filed my TE's on all my control surfaces so the skins and AEX were flush all the way across. I believe the instructions say to do this.

The elevator drawings say to file the AEX flush with the skins after riveting.
