Removing oil filter without losing oil

I'm expecting my engine (IO-390-EXP119) in a few months and am trying to think about how to get it into my basement where I'm building my RV-8. I have a walk out stair way that I'm going to widen before I need to move the fuselage out, but I haven't done that yet. So I'm working with a 32" opening at the door that I will need to get the engine through. I saw that someone else measured the engine to be 32.25" from front to the back of the oil filter. I would need to remove the oil filter to reduce the width below 32" to avoid having to tilt the engine on its side. Is there a way to remove the filter without having the preserving oil the engine ships with pouring out, maybe a plug I can buy?
