I have been flying out to airports where my plane will be on a tie-down for a couple days here and there. A few weeks ago I cam back to my plane and one of my fuel vent covers was missing. Before the next trip I wanted to replace it.

Fast forward a few weeks and I'm about to launch for another trip and wouldn't you know it, I didn't have a replacement cover.

DIY to the rescue.

a $2.99 role of 1.5" or 2" red ribbon (I bet you can find orange with Halloween right around the corner) will make about 8-12 covers !

Hadn't thought about that yet...I think I'll order a yard of this stuff and see what it looks like - might also work for plugs and be a little more durable:
