Recess front of rudder tip?

Fiberglass/fairing newbie here. The attached pictures show the front of my rudder and the fiberglass tip that's supposed to go up there.





My rudder tip does not have a recessed area in the front as I would have expected. It seems to me a recess would smooth the transition from aluminum to fiberglass in the front of the rudder. Am I supposed to add a recess myself?

I don't know if it's supposed to but my 7 didn't.
Easy fix with a file. If the glass gets thin, add some inside.

The beauty of composites... just keep adding and removing until you're happy with it!
