Rear Tip UP Canopy

Norman CYYJ

Well Known Member
I have just screwed up my rear window of the tip up canopy.
Does anyone out there have a spare rear window left over from having to replace the tip-up canopy plexi-glass.

May I ask how it's screwed up (no pun intended)? Depending on what's wrong it may be salvageable. My top skin puckered when I installed the rear window for the final time but was able to salvage the installation...

sure wish Van's instructions told you to do the rear window first and then trim the front to match it.

Norman, sorry to hear about your canopy problem. If you don't find someone with the canopy part you need, you could probably substitute a wrap of lexan in that area. Lexan is much more forgiving to work with than plexi - you can make significant bends in a flat sheet, without breaking it. Also, you can probably source a piece locally for not a whole lot of money. The downsides are that it grows and shrinks some with moisture and that it scratches more easily than plexi.
