Rear stick boot?

Anyone know what I am meant to do about the big hole around the rear stick. It is quite big enough to take a camera, water bottle or even one of Smokey's smaller GIBs.

Seriously, I dont want a control jam. Is a fabric stick boot cover enough or are people making a metal cover.....or what? I would welcome some input, (just not to the controls).

Hi Steve,

I made a leatherette boot, with a wire frame around three sides to keep its shape, and velcroed it all in place. The aft side of the boot is secured by screws that hold a thigh support ramp I built to tilt the back seat cushion up a bit. The boot is loose enough at the top that I can get my fingers in to remove the pip pin that holds the rear stick in position. It is an awkward little job, another one!
