Ready to close up

Well Known Member
Have finished wiring and testing of radios and electrical components and feel that I am ready to put the front top skin on my RV7A. Would like to hear suggestions of things I might have overlooked. I have not finished the firewall forward completely, but the pass through wires are finished. Thanks

Insulate the firewall.

Don't get in a rush (not that you are). Save that last skin for just that, the very last.

When I was building, I tried to leave things open as long as possible - but I agree, eventually you'll have to close it up to do stuff like the slider windscreen etc...

Ideas the occur to me:
* All electrical you can test you have tested
* Brakes filled, bled and leak free
* Vent lines in
* Fuel lines in
* Fuel pump works (at least makes noise)
* If you are putting firewall acoustic foam in, it is installed

Just a few things to double check...
rudder pedal links installed and secure
Fuel vent line fittings secure
Fuel pump finished at firewall
ALL electrical lines tie wrapped and secure behind sub panel
All pitot lines / static lines secure / service loops if needed
All electrical checks completed
If you have a tip-up, is the canopy eject mechanism secure and finished
Did you consider putting in access panels in this forward top skin
