Radio No worky - Help!

Anybody have an idea why my XCOM will work just fine with just my headset plugged in, will work as an intercom with both headsets plugged in, but transmits like fingernails on a chalk board (unreadable) when I have a passenger? I'm stumped.

Just a SWAG, but is your pilot side and pax side PTTs somehow wired together, such that pressing the pilot PTT grounds both? A little time with an ohmeter should rule this out quickly.

What happens when you have just the passenger headset hooked up and you transmit?
