Push Pull tube clearance

Well Known Member
The front push-pull elevator tube interferes with the flap control bracket.

I have a QB fuselage, so the mounting points for the stick controls and the first bell crank were pre-determined.

So far I have ground about 1/4" away from the bottom of the flap motor attach bracket which appears to just get the job done.

Anybody else encounter this problem?

Not me, and I think 1/4" is a lot to be off. I would double check all the hardware, both stick end and bellcrank end, looking for some piece of hardware that was inverted, etc.

Found the problem

We got out the instructions for the "Fuselage", the part we did not build.

The flap attach bracket is mounted "Upside Down". Checked to see if the flap motor would fit, and it won't either.

So I gotta call Vans and ask for a new bracket for free, but I have to drill out all those rivets and do over which I am not looking forward to...
