After installing the magnetometer in the rear fuselage (and checking that it worked and redoing my D-sub connector connections) we riveted on the rear top skin yesterday afternoon. All very satisfying, it was except that because of the magnetometer mounting it's impossible to get a bucking bar into position on four rivets that would go through the upper skin, lower skin and top longeron. The normal rivets to use in that site would be AN426 3-6. I thought I'd use a pulled rivet - but an MK319BS (which is only slightly oversize for diameter and would have done nicely) doesn't have the grip length - the head ends up inside the hole in the longeron. I see that there is a Cherry rivet available in the -3-6 size from a local supplier here in England, but not listed in the Vans catalog (http://www.lasaero.com/part.php?part=CCR264CS3-6). Has anyone used these? Any views on whether they would be suitable in this location? Anyone know of any other alternatives?
Thanks
Chris
