proseal around counterweights?

delusional

Well Known Member
What harm would it be to put a bead of proseal around the edges of the counterweights, between the counterweights and the rib flanges? Adds no weight at all, and could forestall cracking or other vibration issues, I think. I mean the elevator and rudder weights since I'm still on the tail (but very close to done).

Am I missing something?

The only potential issue might be trapping moisture behind and fostering corrosion, but seems unlikely.

I used proseal when mounting the weights except I used it on the base and hardware, not just a fillet seal.
