Prop to crankshaft seal

Allan Moore

I'm New Here
It's rediculous how difficult it is to find a part number for a simple seal. I have a O-360-A1A with a Hartzell HC-C2YK-1BF prop. I need to change my alternator belt and need a new seal.

Pretty sure it is an "O" ring. Most likely a call to a prop shop will get you the info.

Google is your friend. Google" hartzell prop oring " and it will give some choices of vendors.

See https://hartzellprop.com/MANUALS/115N-0000-A.pdf

Figure out the type of Hub/Flange you have -- Table 2-1
Then reference Table 3-1 for the O-Ring required.

-228 , unless you have an N flange hub.

See McMaster-Carr, Part number 1288N188 for the Viton -228 O-Ring. (https://www.mcmaster.com/products/o...uper-resilient-viton-fluoroelastomer-o-rings/)

Cheers,

B

Thanks for the info. I have the K flange so its the -228. I had it in my shopping cart at Spruce but just wasn't 100% sure.
Regards,
Allan
