Prop governor problem

I have a used IO540 C4B5 engine and got a new prop governor from Vans with assurance that the MT P860-3 governor would be OK. However, the splines on the governor are square tooth and the female part on the engine appears to take an V shaped tooth. Anyone else have this issue come up? Solution is going to be a different governor from somewhere, maybe Hartzell?
 
I can't help you with your issue. I have the new Hartzell S-1-32 governor. It works just fine, but you have to order a $30 extender arm from Hartzell to make it work.

I thought I had the same problem. If you minutely rotate the shaft of the governor and keep trying, it does fit.
