Problem inserting the WD-1223 Counter balance arm into the WD-1222 counter balance brackets on page 09-03, Anyone with same problem? OK to sand the powder coating so it will fit

I did mine yesterday with only a bit of a struggle. It took some twisting and turning but it finally went in. Drilling through the steel was a bit of a surprise after all of the aluminum!

Did the twisting and turning remove the powder coating? as I am twisting and turning the powder coating is coming off.

The counter balance arm was not powder coated on the parts that fit into the brackets. In fact, the powder coating stopped precisely at the point where it was flush with the aft bracket. The brackets had no powder coating on the inside. No powder coating came off with the twisting.

Well that seems to solve the problem the counterbalance arm is totally covered with power coating. Thanks.
