Preparing alum for windscreen

How are most people preparing the aluminum for laminating the epoxy fairing to the windscreen? Sanding? What grit? Alumniprep? Alodine? Primer?

I used coarse sand paper and cleaned it with acetone. Bare aluminum for the best bonding in my opinion.
