Powdercoating on Counterbalance

I'm fitting my counterbalance arm into the Stabilator Box on the horizontal stabilator, and the fit is really tight! I've scratched up the powder coating pretty good, and in some places down to bare metal.
Have any others had to do this?
Do I need to re-coat to prevent corrosion?
