plane power alternator noise

I have installed the 60 amp plane power alternator. Everything is installed and the alternator is making great power however there is a tremendous amount of alternator noise coming though the audio panel. Its my understanding that these units have some kind of built in noise filter already....is it possible this has malfunctioned? Is it possible there is a problem with my install? Has any other RV-10 builders had these problems? What were their solutions?

Frank, did you put any kind of filter on the avionics bus? I have not installed one yet and I am wondering if I should.

Nope no filter

PP alternator has been perfect right out of the box.

I'm in Corvallis western Oregon...Flying around here is almost impossible without an instrument ratig..
