Pitot mast mount

As part of the avionics upgrade, I plan on replacing the standard pitot tube with a Garmin GAP 26 unheated pitot/AOA. I got the Dynon mast. I've been given a few suggestions on where to mount it.
1) take out the existing pitot and cut out for the new mount in it's place.
2) mount it to the inspection plate just outboard of the aileron bell crank
3) Mount it just outboard of the above mentioned inspection plate.

If anyone has done this as a retrofit, where have you mounted it?

I have a Gretz kit and am about to do what you're planning. I'm settled on Pats idea.
