Pitch Trim with A/P Control Panel

Can someone that has installed the A/P Control Panel verify if the Switch Panel pitch trim switch works without turning on the Avionics Switch. Mine doesn't but that may be normal. Deciphering the wiring diagram is nearly impossible even for an engineer.

Is it for Dynon Skyview, or Garmin G3X Touch, or perhaps an earlier dynon set up?
