Pax harness chaffing

Is there chaffing to be concerned about with the strap passing through bare metal? I trimmed a piece of root seal but I don't want to get caught up in a solution in search of a problem.

I did the same but used split vinyl tube. Not sure its a problem, but it sure looked like there was a potential for chafing

Use a piece of UHMW block and rivet it so it sits slightly proud of the lower edge. Or some centipede grommet.
