Painting

Well after two months we get to find out our painter is giving up. He has a severe illness that will have him out of work for a quite a few months more. He's been out now since before Christmas. His down time, has given him time to think of his future and painting will not be a part of it.
Our RV-10 paint job is just over half way. Our fuselage was picked up a few days before he was affected. The wings were base coated ready for trim colors. We asked around for someone to take over with no luck. We were surprised when we asked ( much closer to us) a local auto paint shop to take over. They were definitly interested, looking forward to something different to paint. But we did have a slight problem. They would like to get started this week. With a change of plans, today we made the move. The paint shop says they are having a small slow time. I would never have guessed, there was guy's all over. We are a little concerned with many hands around but we know the lead painter personally along with several other painters there. We explained that wings have to be handled carefully and they seemed to be genuinally cautious. They want the wings picked up the next morning after they are painted, and were told to expect to pick them up Friday morning.
Keeping our fingures crossed to finally see some progress. We are to deliver unpainted parts when we pick up our wings. By the way this all began mid July, time to see the finished product.
