Paint - when and how?

Still have time but already thinking about painting my RV-7. I am wondering how it is best to paint the bird. Install everything - engine, wiring and whatever - and then paint it? Or install all staff and have it removed again for painting, especially the engine? The fuselage could then be mounted on a rotating stand? How did you do it? I will have the plane painted before I move it to the airfield for final assembly, just don?t know how it?s best?

I am painting my bits as I go but with a mind to painting them after the majority of the handling has been done.

I am no expert here being at much the same stage as yourself. Feeling my way as I go.

My theory!

I am a good painter,but that does not mean that it is fun.

I have been painting each major structure as I finish them.

This allows me to have them protected as I store them waiting for final assembly.

It is coming along well, but slow as t is a SLOW build kit with no pre-punch parts supplied.

Best wishes, it will be rewarding, but none if it is easy.
