Page 49-02(Rev 2) FF-1208C Springs too long

I cut the two pieces of radiator hose to 20 and 30 inches as instructed. However when I inserted the expansion springs into the 20" piece the spring sticks out the ends of the hose. Either the spring is too long or the 20" hose is too short. Anybody else see this? The only thing I can see to do is cut the spring off, but I hate to do that until I'm REALLY sure!

John,
I had to trim my spring for the short hose. Wait until the radiator is installed so you can route the hose exactly as needed to clear the fuel pressure sender and other stuff and when satisfied with the routing then trim the hose and spring if need be.
