Page 34-12 Nylon Guide Blocks

I have not been able to figure out the purpose of the nylon blocks. Does the canopy actually ride on them? The tabs on the bottom of the canopy frame would seem to guide the frame into the slots, so why these up there?

The canopy is so flexible that when you close the canopy the aft corners can hit/jam against the rollbar. You really need the blocks. The tabs only guide the frame the last inch.

So then I am assuming there will be scuff marks on the canopy where this slides?

Nylon Blocks

actually, the canopy frame slides on those blicks and helps to firect the tabs into the slots in the lower frame .
