Hello,

After doing all the riveting on page 20-04 Fig 1 an A&P who works here said it looked like I used too short a rivet for the top row for the 470/426 4-8. The rivet gauge confirms this. I measured the rivets to make sure they were correct (they were). All the smart guys here agree the rivet should have been longer, BUT, it's Ok the way it is (drilling out the rivets and replacing would make it worse). Anyone else notice this?

Had the exact same problem last week as I mentioned in my blog. The driven rivets failed with the go/no-go gauge but passed when measured with a micrometer. As I recall the minimum driven diameter is 0.163" As such, they are OK.

Ken over at the Mothership saw my post and replied:

Please read the note in on Page 05-04 under "5D Riveting"

The "NOTE:" part explains this. Another guy here was explaining the different loads and this part is a shear load part. Now to recruit some help holding the side skins for match drilling the F-2104T.
