Page 18-06 Steel threading into AL

This is a general question I guess, but the instruction to thread a rod end bearing into the flaperon pivot brackets brings it to mind. Since we are threading steel into aluminum, is it aircraft practice to put a dab of anti sieze on the threads to thwart the possiblilty of galvanic action between the dissimilar metals? Or, does the anodizing on the steel part accomplish the same end?

Anti - couldn't hurt

Don't recall any specific instrucitons on that issue, but a little is a good idea to me. Maybe others will feel differently.

Something better!

If you know some Heli Mechs, get a little Mastinox, its like Zinc Chromate of a thick cream consistency.

It is a very good corrosion protector for

"where fasteners and structure come together"
