It is a little off the path, but we had our EAA meeting today and one of the older gentlemen ask if the club would look into some type of PA systems. Well I have looked on ebay and radio shack and I am totally confused. We discussed the idea of have a portable system small enough for a meeting room with 30 people but big enough for small flyin gatherings of 70-100 people. We would like to keep the cost in the 200-300 dollar area. Any suggestion or input would be welcomed.

We had the same problem. We bought a small guitar amp and a microphone, I think the total for both was around $120 - $150. Go to your closest guitar store and have a look, they'll have both, and you can try them out.
