Ouch moment with 796A bracket

While drilling the 3/16 holes for the steel tank attach bracket yesterday evening, I must have moved it without noticing as the hole ended up in the wrong place. I am not too concerned about the angle bracket as I can make a new one and re-drill, but I do now have a hole in the skin which is a 1/4 inch off. That's what you get when you try to drill something without a clamp! Anybody else made this mistake before? I was going to call Van's today, but missed the tech support hour tonight. Will try again tomorrow. As the skin is not structural and the hole will be under the wing fairing I think it's no big deal, but thought I ask anyway

Called Vans today and they told me that structurally it's not going to be a problem (as long as I refabricate the reinforcement angle), but I'll have to life with the extra hole in the skin. Since it's going to be under the wing fairing, no problem!
