Oops! Nicked the F-711D Angle

RV7Factory

Chief Obfuscation Officer
The picture says it all. I caught the edge of the F-711D angle when I drilled the longerons.

I could remake the angle, but I could just as easily trim the vertical ends of the angle (below the drilled notch) and smooth it all out. I don't see this as a significant issue, but what do I know. Does anyone see any issues with trimming the vertical ends a little (~3/16")? Thanks!

Trim or Smooth Out

The load path is near the rivet hole. The triangle of aluminum to the left doesn't do anything. Cut it off or blend the "oops" so that it doesn't start a crack.

Hi Brad, Good to see you back at it !
I would do as the others have said and cut or blend the problem out.
Im not far behind you now in the building of my 7A. I have just done the F684 Gussets, what fun.
Anyway, I enjoy your web page, so please keep posting your helpful hints !
